"Hope Hub Project

To support and accommodate orphaned Uyghur female students.

The Institution:

 Al-Fatih Waqf for Educational and Health Services, established in 2019, focuses on Islamic education and Quran memorization, and supports Muslim communities in Turkey, including non-Arabic speaking minorities.

Beneficiaries' Background:

Uyghurs in Turkey (approximately 50-120 thousand) fled persecution by China in East Turkestan since 1949, where they face human rights abuses, religious suppression, and mass detention. Many have lost their families or live as orphans.

Current Situation:

 In Istanbul, approximately 50,000 Uyghurs reside. They established the Nurlan School to teach girls Quran and Islamic sciences, which includes 320 female students, 30 of whom are orphans residing permanently.

Project Objectives:

• Preserving the Islamic identity of Uyghur girls.
• Teaching the Quran, Arabic language, and Islamic sciences.
• Protecting girls from deviance.
• Raising academic and religious standards.

Ultimate Goal:

Preserving the identity of the Turkestani people and supporting their community in Turkey, and caring for their orphans.

Operational Objectives:

Supporting the Nurlan School by providing sustenance and accommodation for 30 orphaned female students, and covering the school's operational costs (food, electricity, water, heating, communications).

Expected Outcomes:

• Teaching languages (Arabic, Uyghur, English) and Islamic sciences.
• Qualifying students to enroll in government education and Imam Hatip schools.

Beneficiaries:

30 orphaned girls (5-15 years old), some of whom are paternal and maternal orphans.

Management and Implementation:

 A coordinator from the Waqf follows up with the school principal on:

• Students' progress in Quran memorization.
• Quality and sufficiency of meals. • Monitoring staff attendance and salary distribution.

 Monitoring and Evaluation:

 Monthly and semi-annual reports track activities and results.
